Overnight & Sleepover Care in Edinburgh, Midlothian, West Lothian & East Lothian
A trusted carer present through the night — so mornings always bring safety, not worry
Night time carries its own risks — falls, confusion, and anxiety don’t keep office hours. JR Care’s overnight care service places a trained carer in the home through the night, providing reassurance, practical support, and safety across Edinburgh, Midlothian, West Lothian, and East Lothian.
Overnight Care at Home
Many older adults are safe and independent during the day but become vulnerable after dark — increased fall risk, disrupted sleep, and nighttime anxiety are real concerns. For these individuals and their families, overnight care provides the piece that makes staying at home both safe and sustainable.
JR Care provides professional overnight care across Edinburgh, Midlothian, West Lothian, and East Lothian, carefully matching carers to each individual’s specific nighttime needs. Whether a family member works shifts, lives at a distance, or simply needs peace of mind, overnight care fills that gap with qualified, compassionate presence.
Benefits of Overnight Care at Home
- Safety monitoring through the night without leaving home
- Immediate response to falls, confusion, or health events
- Reduced anxiety for the individual and their family
- Consistent, familiar carer who knows your loved one
- Can be combined with daytime care for a full package
Sleepover Care: Restful Presence When You Need It
Sleepover care means a JR Care carer stays overnight in your home, sleeping in a spare room and remaining available to assist if needed. This option is ideal for individuals who are generally safe at night but need the reassurance of knowing someone is present — and can respond quickly if they wake, feel unwell, or require assistance. Sleepover care can typically assist up to three times through the night before a waking night rate may apply.
Waking Night Service: Active Support All Night
A waking night carer remains awake throughout the night, providing active, hands-on support for individuals who need frequent or unpredictable assistance — those with advanced dementia, high fall risk, continence needs, or complex conditions requiring regular monitoring. Unlike sleepover care, the waking night carer is fully alert throughout their shift, ready to respond at any moment without delay
High quality in-home care allows our clients to retain a level of independence and dignity that might not be matched when staying in a care home.
